CHARACTERISTICS
BREEDING/RE-BREEDING FIELD WITH OPEN SHORT MOUNTE, with bushes, such as piquillín, coirón, zampa, flechilla, among others.
At the moment, it has 200 Hereford breeding cows, on the mount and natural pastures; it is being subused because these fields have the potential to raise 400/700 mothers. This load could be increased through the implantation of sowed pastures such as whiner pasture, which has a great response in the area, if it is properly managed with the right shepherding system and the right water ditribution to take advantage of the mount extension.
Soils in the area have a franc sandy texture, with good quality underground water, located 60 meters depth.
The average rain registration in the area is approximately 300/400 mm per year; it has been increased in the lastest years due to the influence of the dams: some years were regitered important increases (some registers of 750 mm.)
