CHARACTERISTICS

TYPICAL PATAGONIC FIELD, PINTOURESQUE, WITH A CYCLE FOR CATTLE FATTENING DURING WINTER AND SUMMER, IMPORTANT LAGOON INSIDE THE FIELD, NATURAL WATERSPRINGS AND ITS RUNOFFS, POPLAR AFFORESTATION, EXCELLENT GENERAL MAINTENANCE CONDITIONS INCCLUDING AN AIR TRACK. THERE ARE 2.000 SHEEP NOWADAYS (CLOSED GATES).

The surface has typical characteristics of the deglaciation, that affected the region 70 million years ago, shaping a plateau with a fluvioglaciar origin. There are canyons, shaped long time ago; nowadys those canyons give refuge to animals, as well as water filtrations with antural pastures of excellent quality that is developed.
Vegetation is xerophilous and halophyte, typical of the patagonic steppe, generating an adecquate ecosystem for native species like guanacos, choiques, etc.
There´s a lagoon as well, that through different colectors recieve water from rainfalls and watersprings.
The canyon of "DEL RIO PINTURAS" is located near the field, 170 mts depth and 270 mts wide, with a red-ish colour with caverns were southamerican natives expressed their art and rituals.
The estancia has 10.000 Ha for cattle fattning during summertime and 25.000 Ha for doing so during winter, without any need to transport them: with just opening a door, animals can change from one area to another.
Economically, this field is sustained by lamb sale, as well as wool, young lambs and old sheep sale.
With a conservative management of the field´s soil, developed by the INTA (National Institute for Agriculturist Technology), can hold a load of 7.500 sheep. The productivity goals are based on achieving 30.000 kg of 21 microns wool (yield: 60%).
There is a cabin for selling pure pedigree breeders, with a proposed breed named "merino mocho" for those producers that intend to enlarge the sheep group without enlarging the the wool´s thickness. The cabin is prepared as well for artifitial insemination, that can be sinchronized with the reproductive cycle.
The field WAS RENTED TILL DEC ´08; THE LAST LOAD WAS 6.000 SHEEP. IT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE 2.000 OWN SHEEP INCLUDED.
